Started by Naqib Azhn
The site for South East Asia's oldest civilization is under grave threat by local developers to make the site into a housing/ commercial development. The audacity of such plans will undermine the importance of this site as a national treasure and possibly a UNESCO heritage site. The site has been confirmed to be older than the Angkor Wat in Cambodia and the Borobodur Temple in Indonesia through recent archaeological findings and newly discovered ancient ships embedded in the mud of the river that once flowed there. The plans for this development will destroy Malaysia's rich history and will affect me as a student studying archaeology as I feel a sense of duty to protect this site. It will also strip the younger generation of their sense of national pride from being ignorant about their history. I strongly call upon every individual/malaysian to sign this petition in order to save our national heritage.
